About the Facilitator
Mohammed Jameel Abdulla is the Social Media Specialist and Content Creator at Tshisimani Centre for Activist Education. He received his Bachelor of Social Science in Philosophy and Economics before, going on to study African Studies, both at the University of Cape Town. He cut his teeth in politics organising with the #RhodesMustFall and #FeesMustFall movements, particularly focused on the use of social media and citizen journalism in creating political narratives. He was groomed in journalism and social media management at the Daily Vox writing extensively on social movements, youth politics and decolonisation. Before joining Tshisimani he spent two years doing freelance videography and photography exploring South African subaltern contexts. He is passionate about emerging conversations of leftist youth politics and the use of various media in facilitating them.
